This Sunday we are going to take a break from our current sermon series in Matthew and address Race, Reconciliation and the Gospel. In light of the events that have taken place over the last two weeks, we feel that it would be helpful to talk about how the person and work of Jesus ought to influence our understanding of Black Lives Matter, the justice system, and the racism that dwells deep in all of our hearts. While the sermon may be awkward and challenging at times, we would rather speak up in the grace and truth of Jesus than stand silent. Bring friends who may have questions on the topic as it will be a great opportunity for us to begin a healthy conversation on how the Gospel of Jesus changes the way we love and serve our neighbors and seek to bring justice wherever needed.
